Most will think "cheap wool substitute" when thinking of Acrylic fabric. They're not wrong.
But it is outside and off the body where acrylic textiles really shine.
Unlike nylon or polyester, acrylic fabrics are highly resistant to UV degradation - acrylic doesn’t yellow or become brittle in the sun as quickly.
Structurally, it is very stable even in the harshest of environments. Acrylic keeps it's shape in extreme heat, cold, and moisture...making it perfect for outdoor covers.
Polyester is strong, durable, and more affordably produced when compared to Acrylic. With certain treatments, polyester can come very close to the UV resistance of acrylic textiles, as seen in Hydrofend CVR.
